Big Prayers Are Powerful
When It's Hard to Pray

Some days it’s just hard to pray. You might be in a slump or a rut. You might be outside God’s will for you. Or you might be waiting on God’s perfect timing to answer you. Whatever the reason, though you may feel like your prayers aren’t effective, don’t give up! Today’s post will help you through the rough spots in your prayer life by reminding you that God wants to hear from you -- no matter what.

GP - Effective Prayer

Pray

God, I want to be closer to You. Sometimes it is so hard to pray; please let me know that You are here. I know that Your will and Your purpose will prevail, and I will wait patiently for Your answer.

Reflect

Effective prayer means that I am abiding in Christ with nothing hindering my relationship with Him. Do I have any blocks in my life that might be contributing to this drought in my prayer life?

Respond

When you find it hard to pray, tell God about it. Ask Him why. Bring Him your questions. Share your worries. God knows what you are going through, but He wants you to talk about it with Him.

The Wrap Up

God isn’t looking for perfection as much as He is looking for a willing heart that is persistently seeking His will. Being persistent in your prayer life means that you are continually looking to Him for direction and guidance, whether or not you feel like your prayers are being answered. The following post talks more about the concept of being persistent -- even when God seems silent.
