How can I use the Lord’s Prayer as a guide for my prayer life?
Take a pen and paper and write down the Lord’s Prayer, leaving room between each line so you can personalize the prayer. After each line, think about the underlying meaning of the phrase. Then, write down your personalized version of the phrase, and make the prayer your own.
Praying Scripture is more than simply reading words or phrases from the Bible or a prayer book. God wants you to start there and then learn how to make those words and phrases a part of your conversation with Him. He wants to use His Word to stir something deeper in you, to draw you into an intimate and personal dialogue with Him.
