You only get strong through a struggle. Exercise is hard when you are weak, but with practice you get stronger and can exercise with more endurance and less pain. Similarly, our struggles make us stronger in our faith. They allow us to see God’s hand working for His good, which builds our faith. No one wants to stay stuck in the midst of hard times, though, so we must develop the determination to overcome. Jentezen Franklin explains how the having this kind of determination helps us develop a faith that can’t be shaken in the following message.
"None of These Things Move Me" by Jentezen Franklin
Read
Acts 20:23-24
Pray
Jesus, make me strong through this trial so I can confidently say, “This won’t move me away from You.”
Reflect
Am I allowing my trials to make me weak, or are they making me more determined?
Respond
Instead of focusing on your problems, focus on your growth and what you are learning about God.
Paul’s letter in Acts asserts that nothing that has ever happened, and nothing that would happen in the future, could ever cause him to change his mind about what he is supposed to do. He was convinced that his trials were part of the job of sharing the love of Jesus with the world. When you are doing the work of God, you can expect trials because the enemy will try everything in his power to stop you. But more than that, you can trust in God to provide for you because He uses all things to work for your good and His glory, as the next post explains.
