Change Your Mindset

To really experience a blessed life, we must understand and embrace that the key to a blessed life is a heart of generosity. A generous heart is the one that, when it receives blessings, pours those blessings back into others, paying it forward. This post will encourage you to think differently so you can change your mindset to a generous one. It will help you explore the three mindsets of: a Bag Mindset, a Basket Mindset and a Barn Mindset. You can learn how to change your mindset so you can be a cheerful, generous giver, blessing those around you because God is blessing you.

"A Heart of Generosity" by Craig Groeschel

Read
Psalm 11:25

Pray
Oh, how I want to live with a Barn Mindset, knowing that You are my provider and that You will take care of me with an overflow of blessings. Help me see who You want me to be generous towards so I can bless others the way You bless me.

Reflect
What mindset do I default to; a bag, basket or a barn mindset?

Respond
A bag or basket mindset focuses on what we can or can’t hold. A barn mindset will help you remember than you can’t hold back generosity because you know there is more than enough to go around.

When we think we have little, then we think we have little to spare; when we think we have little to spare we will almost always choose to keep what we have. God will not bless anyone who holds back generosity. The key to a blessed life lies in the heart. When you have a heart of generosity, you will easily see and act on the opportunities God gives you to help others. The next post takes a closer look at this concept.
