Integrity in Your Words

When it comes to honesty, what the world says and what God expects from us often differs. For example, the world says that white lies are okay—that you don’t always have to be honest, that “everything is relative” and you can lie if it suits your needs. But God requires that we are honest in all we do. It is the foundation of your character and your credibility. In this message, Ashley Evans outlines five reasons why honesty is critical to your life and to your well-being.

"Truth and Honesty" by Ashley Evans

Read
John 3:29

Pray
Jesus, You were always honest with people, even if they didn’t understand You. Let me reflect this in my life; help me be honest about everything and remind me to temper this honesty with love.

Reflect
Have I been inherently honest in all things today, this week, this year?

Respond
Stop tolerating lies—big lies or little lies are all wrong in God’s eyes. Decide to be honest in everything you do, think, or say—no matter who is watching.

Nothing will ever change until you are honest with yourself and the people around you about who you are and what you believe. God really demands honesty from us in all things—that is the foundation of integrity. Sometimes it’s hard to see for yourself where you need to be honest; in fact, it’s hard to have integrity in any area of life when we are walking by ourselves. This is why a man of integrity surrounds himself with people who can help him and guide him. With that in mind, the next post will explain why you want to surround yourself with other people of high integrity to help you grow and be accountable.
