God Has Not Abandoned Us to Injustice
The Whole Idea of Justice

It's almost innate with us, this sense of fair play. There's a universal sense of what's fair and what's not. And when we are inundated with that offends our sense of fair play, that which is unfair and unjust, we can become dispirited, disheartened and disillusioned.

It begs the question, where do we get this idea that the world is supposed to be fair? Before we can adequately understand the concept of injustice, we have to understand what justice is and its ultimate Source.

Today, in our first installment of "A Christian Perspective of Justice," pastor Andy Stanley examines the foundation of justice, what it is we really want when we cry out for it and why injustice isn't an argument against God's existence.

PRAY

Lord, help us to stand up against injustice and love others with our words and actions. Your word tells us that vengeance belongs to You, so we can have peace knowing that Your will shall prevail and evil will be dealt with.

REFLECT

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and please the widow's cause,” (Isaiah 1:17).

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).

RESPOND

It's one thing to be offended by injustice, but what can we do about it?

In our next post, pastor Bobbie Houston addresses how we should be motivated by injustice and the actions we can take.
