Corporate responsibility begins with personal responsibility. We worry about the unjust things that happen in the world, not realizing that they have the tendency to distract us from the things we should be most concerned about.
What should be foremost on our minds is how we can contribute to justice, not moaning about injustice. In other words, what am I doing to be part of the solution instead of the problem?
Angus Buchan says it isn't our problem to exact justice in the world. "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is not what Jesus preached," he says. Listen as he talks about how we can contribute to making the world more just while preparing for a world where justice will be perfect.

PRAY
Lord, Your word makes it clear that we all must come before you to give an account of our lives. Help us to live in such a way that need not be ashamed on that day but that You will be able to say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
REFLECT
Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” (John 21:20-22)
RESPOND
Jesus once was asked what the most important commandment is. In our next post, Joel Muddamalle writes about how that command, and the one just like it, are important ingredients in creating a more just environment in the world.
