“I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins" (Isaiah 43:25).
The definition of murder is the premeditated taking of human life. So because life begins at conception, abortion is murder. If you have had an abortion—or performed an abortion—you are guilty of the sin of murder.
But here is a message for those of us who have never been involved in an abortion—we, too, are guilty of murder. In fact, every person who has ever lived is guilty of the sin of the murder of the Son of God! This is not wordplay. The sins each of us have ever committed directly caused the murder of Jesus Christ. We often speak of aborted children as “innocent life,” but understand that there has never been a more innocent life than Jesus Christ! And our sins are responsible for His death.
But here is incredibly good news. When we seek forgiveness by believing that Jesus paid the penalty for all our sins on the cross, we are cleansed by the loving sacrifice of the Son of God.
Accept that forgiveness. Let God discard your guilt, and know the internal peace that your loving Father gives to all of us sinners. We all deserve death for our sin, but in Christ, we have forgiveness and eternal life.
