Going Home

Mark 5:19

When my daughter graduated from Bible College a few years ago, I remember our last visit walking around the campus, knowing that we would most likely not be returning. It was a beautiful place filled with like-minded people, a small taste of heaven on earth. How hard it was to drive away at the end of the week!

But, much like the demon-possessed man that Jesus set free, we are called out of the safe zones in life and told to go home and share what the Lord has done – and is doing – in our lives. The sweet mountain top experiences are meant to empower and focus us to do the work He’s called us to do . . . even Moses had to come down and return to his people!

Going home isn’t always easy, especially if those we love don’t know the Lord. We want to grab them by the shoulders and give them a shake. Or to somehow download what’s in our head and heart so that they can ‘get it’, but we can’t. We need to testify of what He’s done, but then we need to live out our lives in such a way that others see a peace and the supernatural love that comes from the filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives, trusting Him to do the rest.

Father, we thank You that You sought us out and forever changed our hearts and lives. Help us to be a conduit of Your Spirit into the lives of those who need You.
