It has never been more clear to me than it has been over these last few years that clouds are a part of our lives of faith. God is always and forever in the cloud—not above it, nor beyond its reach—and through the cloud He has a lesson to teach us and a hand to reach us. What a sweet and beautiful picture this has left with me. It is not “cloud’s illusions I recall” as in the Joni Mitchell song. It is the reality within them that gives me comfort. It is who the Bible tells me dwells therein that I see now.
The clouds always gather before the storm. My God is already there before the trial comes, and with me to guide during the storm.
