Sometimes it seems like all this world throws at us is trouble. The car won’t start. The company you worked for years for is closing its doors. The lump turns out to be cancerous. Perhaps your co-workers ridicule you for your belief in God. Problems can range from small to grand, but they will be there.
Jesus warned the disciples in John 16:33 that they would encounter trouble in their lives. People would persecute them for what they preached and many of them would face death for their beliefs. But Jesus also gives them (and us) hope. Even through our darkest hour, we can find peace in Him.
Jesus overcame the world! Not even death could defeat Him. No matter what trial we are facing, we can take comfort in knowing Jesus is with us, and He has already overcome anything the world throws at us.
