Read: Ephesians 3:14-21
Atheists look at the world around them and tell us it is a product of random chance. Their view is increasingly popular, perhaps because it is easier for our human minds to comprehend this answer than to have faith in God. I was there once. I struggled with the concept that any “god” could be big enough to create the immensely complex world we live in. The god I could imagine was too small to accomplish that.
Paul prays earnestly in Ephesians 3:18-19 that we “may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (ESV). Yet even after we begin a relationship with Jesus, we all struggle with unbelief to some extent on a daily basis. Our natural hearts have trouble fully accepting God’s love for us. It takes God’s supernatural intervention for us to really believe. It takes faith.
When I opened my heart to Jesus, he gave me that strength to accept that God really is big enough to handle it all. When we “take up the shield of faith” (Ephesians 6:16), we can accept God’s love and be filled with His fullness.
Reflect:
Do your actions reflect total belief in God’s love for you?
Given Paul’s prayer for you in Ephesians, do you need supernatural insight into His divine love for you?
How would your life be different if you fully embraced God’s love?
