Read: 1 Timothy 6:1-21
In the book of Timothy, Paul pours into his prize pupil the lessons he has learned along the way. These are Paul’s last words to Timothy before being put to death. Paul does not mess around or beat around the bush. He is precise and straight to the point.
As he brings the letter to a close, Paul writes, “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12 NLT).
Paul urges Timothy to not make a point but to make a difference. Paul instructs Timothy to fight in a way that people don’t know what he’s against but what he stands for.
These words echo strongly today. Look at your life. Are you arguing a point or are you making an eternal difference? Are you spouting off about what you are against or testifying to what you stand for? Be a witness of the gospel to the world. Fight the good fight of true faith today.
