Read: Job 23:8-17 & Hebrews 10:24-25
One aspect of Job’s amazing character is his ability to see the character of God even though he does not actually see His ways.
In the beginning of this section, Job cries out that he is unable to find God in the midst of his terrible circumstances. Yet even though God is unknowable and confusing, Job is still confident in God’s character and His sovereignty: In verse 10, he states that “He knows the way that I take,” and in verse 13, “He does whatever He pleases.” And more inspiring still, he stands fast without any good friends to speak of.
I know that when I go through situations in which it is difficult to find God, it becomes very hard for me to walk in confidence in who He is.
As I have grown as a Christian, I have come to greatly appreciate the community of believers that God has provided for me. In the midst of any circumstance, I know that I have them to show me who God is when it is difficult for me to see, to orient my life towards Him and seek His glory even when I am unable to find His will. Frequently, I fail to see those around me who love me and push me towards the Lord, those who spur me towards love and good deeds and encourage me, as the immense blessings that they are.
