Come, Drink, Live.

Read: Isaiah 55:1

God wants us. He wants me. He wants you. He's gone out of His way to invite us into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is in Jesus, the Water of Life, that we experience soul-satisfying refreshment. When we accept His invitation and our soul's need has been quenched, all other cravings and longings can be placed in a proper perspective. That reality is underscored by the numerous invitations found in scripture.

Isaiah 55:1, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

John 4:13, “Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.'”

John 7:37, “On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.'”

The last invitation in scripture is found in Revelation 22:17, “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!' And let him who hears say, ‘Come!' Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

God's great invitation to humanity will someday come to a close. At that time, the salvation offered through a relationship with Jesus Christ will no longer be available. It will then be impossible to be spiritually satisfied. Jesus is calling. He's inviting each of us into a relationship with Him. The great invitation is available to all those who will call on the name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Is there anything keeping you from accepting His invitation?
