A Constant Source of Water

Read: Psalm 1:1-6

Have you ever felt spiritually dry, like that plant you forgot to water on your porch in the middle of the summer heat? We all experience these droopy times, and they can happen for different reasons. But it seems the most common reason for dry seasons is that we forget that we need a constant source of water—just like we forgot those wilted plants outside.

Psalm 1:1-3 explains beautifully the importance of keeping constant connection with God through His word. “Blessed is the one...whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

The next time you feel dry and distant from God, ask yourself if you are making time with Him a priority. He wants to spend time with you and to be a constant source of nourishment for your life.
