Ancora Imparo

Micah 4:2

"Many nations shall come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.' For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." NKJV

In the last years of his life, Michelangelo was said to have scribbled "Ancora Imparo" in the margin of some of his work. These two words are translated as, "I am still learning." This shows that even a brilliant man like Michelangelo still desired to learn more. These two words should also be part of any Christian's life. No matter how long we have been a believer or studied Scripture, we should always desire to learn more.

If we really think about it, all of us desire to learn more than we know now. We may desire to learn a new trade or technique to help in our career. Maybe we desire to learn how to better parent our kids or love our spouse. So the question isn't, "Do you want to learn," but rather, "Do you want to learn about Jesus?" It's in our knowledge of Him that we find the way of salvation, the way to peace and the way to an abundant life. Friend, as you crack open your Bible and search the Scriptures, God will reveal Himself to you and you will never be the same. Are you ready to learn?

Life Lesson: God desires for us to be actively learning about Him.

Dear God,
Thank You for Your Word and for making it available to me. Thank You for the men and women who died so that Your Word was kept safe throughout the years. Lord, give me a desire to read and know the Bible above everything else. Teach me so that I may be used for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
