But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him (Jeremiah 17:7).
THINK
- Trust: It’s easy to base our trust in life on many different things. If the stock market is up or our relationships are going well, we feel secure and confident. But many of the things we trust often fluctuate and are unstable.
- Ebb and Flow: If we aren’t careful, we can find ourselves on a roller coaster of emotion, riding the ups and downs of confidence and insecurity. The truth is that nothing provides confidence like a relationship with God does.
Where do you place your trust? Do you look to the circumstances of your life first? Or do you trust God over everything else?
PRAY
Ask God to help you see past your circumstances—good or bad—and to trust that His hand is over every area of your life.
ACT
Write down one area where you lack full confidence. Then, physically tear the paper up in an act to show God that you trust Him with it. Finally, meditate on Proverbs 3:5-6 to see another promise about trusting God.
