Grafted in the Olive Tree
"And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you."
In Psalms 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you."
I would encourage you to learn about Israel and its history. It is a great thing to know about to help share your faith. Learn how Israel became a nation overnight after 1900 years of not being one. And the way that the very next day after they became a nation, they were attacked from all sides and won. There are now organizations that are boycotting Israel, making them label their products that are coming out of Israel. The same way this is happening now is how it happened in the days of Hitler. Really? Boycotting Israel? We not only need to be praying for Israel but we need to be pointing out what people are doing against the nation of Israel. How can you boycott Israel and then pray for the peace of Jerusalem? We are connected to Israel.
Do you know how trees are grafted into the root? We have been grafted in according to Romans 10-11. When you want to grow a tree from a solid root stock you will cut a "v" in the tree that goes into the ground and take the top of another tree and stick it in the tree with the root. Wrap it with a little bandage around it and the tree will grow. When you do this grafting, you take the tree (the natural tree) and you have to cut off the top of it. So this tree gets hurt, if you will, to prepare it for the grafting. It is really miraculous. That tree will have the benefits and the blessings of the root stock. In the same way we as Gentiles, being grafted in, have the benefits and the blessings of the Jewish people because of Jesus. Those benefits and blessings should lead us to be a benefit and blessing to others.
Life Lesson: We have been grafted in to the olive tree, Israel.
Thank You for Your plan for my life and for grafting me in to Your family. Help me to share about scripture. Teach me more about my identity in You. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus' name,
