Words Are Powerful

Description

Do the words you speak show others the fact that you praise God? How can you change your words to better reflect your relationship with God?

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.” James 3:9-10

Think

Words are powerful. They can steer the course of our lives, and they can take our lives off course. But what we communicate says much more about us than we may realize. Our words communicate what we think, feel and even believe.

If you are a Christ follower, everything you do should be an act of worship. And the words that come from your mouth should reflect your relationship with God.

Do the words you speak show others the fact that you praise God? How can you change your words to better reflect your relationship with God?

Pray

Ask God to help you focus on what you say. Don’t take flippantly the responsibility you have with the words you speak.

Act

When you struggle with vulgarity (or any other area of life), find out what God’s word says about it. Don’t battle alone. Fight your struggles with the truth of God’s word!
