“Boaz replied, ‘I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband- how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before.’” Ruth 2:11
THINK
One of the definitions of ‘loyalty’ is: faithfulness to commitments or obligations. It’s that faithfulness that is a huge indicator of how a relationship will go. In the story of Ruth and Boaz, we see that kind of faithfulness, that kind of loyalty displayed in a grand fashion. And Boaz sat up and took notice of loyalty in Ruth’s life.
As you think about the relationships in your life; as you consider those close to you, do you see loyalty in their lives? Do you see faithfulness to commitments? Remember to look for loyalty. Because there are fewer things more important to a successful and positive relationship.
PRAY
Ask God to help you maintain loyalty in your own life – first to Him, and then to others around you. And ask Him to surround you with people of loyalty so you can get the most out of the relationships you have.
ACT
On the list of main points, add today’s: Look for loyalty. Then read Proverbs 3:3 as a reminder of the importance of loyalty.
