Imitator
Description
Ephesians 5:1
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Imitation has been said to be the highest form of flattery. To imitate someone or something means to copy it exactly. In Ephesians, Paul tells us to be imitators of God. We are to copy God’s behavior exactly, and that is to live a life of love and sacrifice. Christ loved us so much that He sacrificed His life for us on the cross.
God loved us so much that He gave His ONLY son to die on the cross for our sins. I would never sacrifice one of my children for another person. NEVER. But God did. He loves us that much. We are to exhibit that kind of love towards others. We are to lay our life down for others.
In a mom’s world, we do live out that kind of love for our children. Everyday we get opportunities to express sacrificial love to our children. Make the most of your time with your child and ask God to show you areas in your life where you can be an imitator of Him.
Prayer:
Father,Thank you for loving me enough to send your only son to die for my sins. God, thank you for sacrificing so much. I want to be an imitator of you, God, and love others the way you love me. Give me that love Father; give me your love.
