After … Blessed

The people of Bulanda village used to despise their old water source because a dog fell in it and died.

But on October 22, 2014, everything changed. On that day the community christened a new borehole.

“We don’t have those diseases anymore,” says Rosina Buumba. “We realized it in a course of a week. We used to feel bubbling in our stomachs. It stopped. Kids stopped complaining.”

Dorcas’ life has changed as well. Now she goes to school all the time. She used to miss weeks of school due to sickness and to care for her grandmother who is HIV positive.

Dorcas says she no longer gets diarrhea. She has gone from being ranked #9 in her class to being ranked #5. But, she says, she’s aiming for #1.
