Satan and God Want You Dead

Both Satan and God want you dead, but for different reasons.

Satan wants to kill you and your destiny that is rooted in God.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8-9).

He tried to kill Moses at birth; he tried to kill Jesus at birth. He tries to kill all babies through abortion. If he cannot kill at birth, he will try to kill your destiny through childhood wounds. Most of our lives are defined by wounds we will receive before the age of 11. Satan tries to immobilize humans by wounding them so they spend a lifetime trying to cope with the consequences created by their wound. However, Jesus came to redeem all that was lost:

"for the Son of Man has come 'to seek and to save that which was lost'” (Lk 19:10).

And Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted.

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,

Because the Lord has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound” (Isa 61:1,2).

God wants to kill your old man, your flesh, in order that Christ can be revealed in you. He wants to manifest His life in you and me. In order to do that, we must come to the end of ourselves.

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.  He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.   If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:24-26

Even those who have come to the place of surrender can expect pruning at different stages of our journeys. God doesn’t prune spiritually dead fruit trees; He prunes those that are spiritually alive.

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.  Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:1-8
