The Body of Christ could be described in a word picture. If you have ever seen Aspen trees, you will notice that they do not grow alone. They are together in groups, or colonies, called stands. The root structure is connected. So, if one tree is damaged, the impact travels throughout the entire stand of trees.Taller trees provide protection from the elements for the newer, younger trees that grow up in their shadow.
If we are in the Body, we are all connected to each other. “Rejoice with those who rejoice. Mourn with those who mourn" (Rom 12). Do our words and actions line up with Jesus’ desire for us to be one? What can we do to promote oneness within the Body? Who can we reach out to today to encourage, protect, equip, and love?
