Listening to the Father's Heart - October 30

Son, so many of my sons and daughters struggle to live in victory over besetting habits and sins. They thought these would go away when their new birth took place. My son Paul also struggled to make sense of this when he confessed: "For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me" (Rom7:19-20). He wrote those words many years after his conversion. His struggle reflects the condition of many of my sons and daughters. There are root causes for these struggles that need to be rooted out. My son describes the hidden shame that must be dealt with for my sons and daughters to be free (2 Cor 4:2). Son, your spirit is reborn in purity, but your soul can also be hindered from sin you have not personally engaged in, but is a lingering influence from iniquity not dealt with in previous generations. David understood this when he wrote Ps 32. Each of my sons and daughters must ask me where the iniquity first came in and then repent and renounce these sins so they no longer affect you and your children. Are you ready to ask me where there are iniquities that need to be broken? Let's begin now.

I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin—Psalms 32:5.
