Son, do you remember the time you went to that wilderness training school in your twenties? You were blindfolded, placed in the back of that pickup truck, dropped off in the middle of Utah, and then told to find your way back to base camp? That was quite a scary adventure. You felt helpless and alone. You did not know where you were or how you were going to get home. All you had was a map and a compass. I want you to stop for a moment and realize that at this very minute I am your map and your compass. My word is your map and my spirit is your compass. I have made a covenant with you to guide you throughout your life. Your role is dependence. You must yield all things in your life to me and place your trust upon me for every need. You will discover how faithful I am as you do this. Aren't you glad you can trust me to be your guide?
For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide, even to death. Psalms 48:14
For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me. Psalm 31:38.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8
