Listening to the Father’s Heart – January 28

My son Paul learned to live in peace in the midst of storms in his life. I would have you learn this important principle. There will always be storms in your life. The difference between those who are not brought down by those storms and those who are destroyed by them is trust. Those who entrust their very lives for every detail, every circumstance, discover a peace that resides even in the midst of great trials. Remember when you stood in the ocean knee-high? You could handle those waves on your own. However, when you got into the deep water you had to trust yourself to float. You had to let go. You had to release the circumstances. This is a picture of our relationship. There is always a letting go required to gain the peace. I am pleased you are getting to this place. This is a process I must take my sons and daughters through to discover my peace in the midst of the storm. Do not fret when you fail, this simply means you are one step closer to living in my peace.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:11-13
