After Paul told the Christians to avoid false teaching, he went on to say what believers should be preoccupied with.
3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.
2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision;
3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, (Phil 3:1-3)
We are to be preoccupied with a circumcised or spiritual heart and a worship of God the Father based on the power of the Spirit. We are to glory in who Jesus Christ is and what he has done for us. Also we are to have no confidence in our own efforts to please God. The word for worship means to function as a priest and the word for the glory means to be boasting loudly. What a priest does is are acts of worship and we are to have a ministry of a priest. In the New Testament believers do that spiritually by praising God, using his or her spiritual gift, supporting the church, helping the weak, and sharing the Gospel while all the time boasting in who Jesus Christ is and what he has done.
