The Divine Son - Ages to Come

Our future will be a display of God's wondrous, awesome kindness and grace. Age after age will display another outpouring of God's grace upon us in kindness. Can that grace be thwarted? Can that grace be ended through our sin? The following verses answer that question:

...in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast (Eph 2:7-9).

Everything we receive is based upon grace and not upon us. From beginning to end, it is a gift from God. It is not something we work for or something we can credit to our activity, so there is no basis for pride. Instead, the only thing that is left is deep and personal gratitude to such a gracious God. Age after age, like the waves of the sea, will bring the overflow of God's kindness upon us.
