Saved From the Wrath

00:00

In Romans chapter 5, Paul developed the applications of the gift of righteousness which he introduced in chapter 3. He told us what it means. So far we saw that we have a present peace with God, a permanent relationship with him as well as a permanent standing in grace. Further, the tribulation and pressures of life will be used to bring character into our lives. The gift of righteousness also means something greater: we are the recipients of God the Father's love. Still more awaits us.

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. (Rom 5:9)

Justification by faith also has implications for the future. Through the blood of Christ we shall be saved from the wrath to come. The wrath to come is God's judgment on the Earth when the Antichrist is revealed and the entire Earth worships him. Our fate has been settled by our faith in Christ. So another benefit of justification by faith is future security from God's judgment on this Earth. We have chosen Christ. Other poor souls will choose the antichrist.
