It is fascinating how the New Testament goes out of the way to explain to us the rights and privileges that our faith in Christ has given us. God wants us to know what an exalted place of privilege is granted to those who are His children. For example, Colossians 1:12-13 says, "giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son."
God the Father is the One who has qualified us for Heaven. It is not our works, our religious performance, but He who has done this. Our sins have qualified us for the desperate need of a Savior, but the Father's love has qualified us to live in His presence. It is a presence of light wherein we are fully accepted and absent of shame.
The Father has rescued us through His magnificent Son, and He has brought us out from the inherent authority of darkness. Outside of Christ we had no protection and were inherently members of Satan's realm whether we knew it or not. Now we belong to a King and a Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Prince of Love, the Son of God.
