Our priestly service to God will not end on this Earth, it will continue into eternity. The word the writer to the Hebrews used to describe priestly sacrifice was also used of the believers in heaven.
3 And there shall no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His slaves shall serve Him;
4 and they shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. (Rev 22:3-4)
The center of our worship and service will be the lamb of God on the throne of the Father in heaven. We will have the privilege of seeing his face and of having his name on our forehead giving a mark of ownership. In the book of Revelation the followers of the wild animal, the beast of Revelation, had his name placed on their heads. So much better and greater is our privilege to be in the presence of God and with marks of his ownership on us. It is a wonderful thing to belong to God and to be able to do things for God. I wonder what will be the things that we will be able to do for God in heaven because we are told very specifically what we can do for God on earth. What will be our heavenly list?
