Each One Has a Spiritual Gift

00:00

We have already been told by Peter that using a spiritual gift is a spiritual sacrifice or an act of worship to God. He also told us that each believer has a spiritual gift so that we might serve one another.

9 Be hospitable to one another without complaint.

10 As each one has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

11 Whoever speaks, as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1Peter 4:9-11)

There appears to be two types of gifts: those that have to do with speaking and those that have to do with serving the body of Christ. The speaker must realize he or she is speaking on the behalf of God and therefore approach it reverently. The one who serves must recognize that the energy for service comes from God and it should be a spiritual energy and not a fleshly activity. What is exciting is that every believer is a priest and every believer has a spiritual gift in their service as a priest.
