Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does" (John 5:19).
There were times when Jesus walked away or moved on: when the crowd tried to stone Him, when they tried to crown Him king, when people tried to provoke a quarrel with Him. There were other times that He chose to unexpectedly engage with people or change His travel plans. Why? He lived in accordance with God’s call on His life, eliminating or adding whatever it took to accomplish the Father’s purpose. What would it look like for you to do the same in your life? What things would you add, and what would you take away?
