FOR IN CHRIST ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE DEITY LIVES IN BODILY FORM, AND IN CHRIST YOU HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO FULLNESS. HE IS THE HEAD OVER EVERY POWER AND AUTHORITY. — COLOSSIANS 2:9-10
Self-talk reveals more about a woman than she may realize. Does she speak to herself with positive words or words of self-loathing? Truthfully, it is much easier to focus on her broken parts, whether it is bodily imperfections, struggles with sins, or circumstances that can't be changed. The mirror and the mind become battlegrounds, thoughts launching inward like grenades.
When a woman trusts Jesus, she is more than her mistakes or her victories. She is whole in her Savior. She is whole because Christ gave her His all—His righteousness, His riches of wisdom, His perfect life for hers. He called her to follow Him so that she could share in His abundant life. His love lets her deflect the cruel words she had aimed at herself.
In Christ, She is no longer condemned because of her sin—He has wiped it away (Romans 8:1). In Christ, she is never alone—He has given her His Spirit to comfort her (Romans 8:26-27). In Christ, she can stand bravely, content in whatever situation she finds herself—His hand is there to sustain her (Philippians 4:13). Nothing—good or bad—can change His love or complete acceptance of her. He looks at her and sees His beloved for whom He died—His bride, His delight.
Let's pray:
Father God, thank You that Your love never changes, Help me see myself the way Christ does and draw strength and confidence from His love. Amen.
