Times of Trouble

YOU TURNED MY WAILING INTO DANCING; YOU REMOVED MY SACKCLOTH AND CLOTHED ME WITH JOY, THAT MY HEART MAY SING YOUR PRAISES AND NOT BE SILENT. LORD MY GOD, I WILL PRAISE YOU FOREVER. -PSALM 30:11-12 NIV

David knew times of trouble, and he also knew what it meant to be relieved of trouble. He experienced want, and he experienced abundance. He hid in fear of losing his life to a king that he knew hated him. . .and later, he danced with joy, praising God, amazed at God's provision and protection. Can you relate?

You probably have never been chased by a king and his armies. But every life is full of ups and downs. There will be times when all you can hope to do is survive in the shelter of the Lord's wing.

You know He is there but you cannot sense His presence. You trust Him, but you don't know how in the world He will turn things around.

Just keep trusting. Just keep believing. Just keep praying.

David cried out to the Lord for mercy. Not just this psalm but many others are filled with David's pleas to the Lord.

God is faithful to hear our prayers. Just as He turned David's sorrow into joy. He can do the same for you.

LET'S PRAY:

Father, I ask You to turn my weeping into laughter. Teach me to praise You no matter my circumstances. Amen.
