All of us reflect something. We can reflect our experiences, victories, tragedies, upbringings, hangups, strengths, etc. When something is reflected, it is as if we give it a second life.
Many of these things aren’t worth reflecting. They aren’t worth a second life. Unfortunately, we hang on to them and give them a second life by reflecting them. We treat someone the way we were treated. We remain irritated and lash out in anger at the dog – or a child. We don’t offer our input because of fear of failure. We live in resignation that life will always be hard and God will always be distant. We act as if people are against us, even though they have never told us they were.
Life doesn’t have to be this way. Ideally, our lives would reflect Jesus to the world. His grace, truth, love, kindness, challenge, invitation – you get the point.
Challenge: Think of one good thing in your life and give it a second life by reflecting it to the world.
