Maybe you thought your situation looked hopeless. Perhaps that relationship looks beyond repair, or that debt looks insurmountable, or that disease is following its inevitable course. Or maybe you wonder why nothing ever seems to change. Or if your heart will ever soar again.
Whatever your situation, it isn’t hopeless. It isn’t even difficult for God. In fact, he seems to prefer impossibilities because any lesser power—even human beings—could handle “unlikely.” But “impossible”? Only God can do that.
That’s why his word is filled with statements like these:
“Is anything too hard for the LORD?” (Genesis 18:14)
“Is the LORD’s arm too short?” (Numbers 11:23)
“Everything is possible for one who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
“Nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)
Not once in Scripture does God ever say, “Hmmm, I’m at a loss on this one. I just don’t know what to do.” No, he is mastered by no situation and is the master of them all—when his people respond to him in faith and act on it. He urges us, even pleads with us, to keep on asking and keep on believing. “Hopeless” in not in his vocabulary, and it should never enter the minds of his people. Whatever life looks like, no matter how impossible things appear, choose to believe.
