Love Letter

Sometimes as I blog to you, I feel what you might describe as anguish because I so much want you to know Me, yet I AM represented so poorly and incorrectly by so many. Too many preach about Me without understanding. They think I AM about rules and regulation. They think I AM mostly concerned about each good and bad thing you do and that somehow I AM way up on a throne somewhere keeping tally so I can show you your score and how good or bad you have been—and then dole out the punishment you deserve.

There are even churches that say they represent Me and yet when strangers come to your Sunday parties or your Bible studies or your revival meetings, they do not feel welcome. Sometimes they feel just the opposite. That is not who I AM.

My Word is often used to make people feel guilty for not obeying the rules. I AM misquoted and misrepresented as people open up My Book and try to explain Me.

That Book is not so much a rule book as it is a love story. It’s also an epic adventure with wonder and danger and rescues… and it starts at the beginning and goes to the end and the whole thing is about relationships and how much I love you.

So, this history book/adventure series/love letter starts… with Me creating you… to have a relationship with you. I gave you everything and yet you wanted more. That built a barrier between us, and I have spent the rest of history pursuing you so you could have the most significant life imaginable.

The whole story is filled with My showing you that the rules aren’t as important as the relationship. It is filled with proof that it isn’t wealth or fame or power that can fulfill you. The story shows that you are fulfilled only by a relationship with Me. Too many people sit in too many churches hearing too many versions of the story that just aren’t true.

If you are reading this and are one of those people who checked in at the church and checked out when you thought you heard the rules being read, then let Me ask you to check back in.

A lot of people do get it, and you will recognize them when you meet them. When they explain the Book about Me, then you will see… it isn’t about do's and don’ts. It is indeed a love story that ties the beginning of the universe to the end of all days in a fabulous drama… and you are one of the main characters.

So if anyone or anything that had My name on it ever made you feel less than magnificent… that wasn’t real. You are one of the main characters in the story because I made you and I love the way I did it and… I can’t get you outta My mind.

Love,

Your Creator and your Father
