Lifeguard on Duty

While we were in one of our weekly all-staff meetings, which are more like worship services, our Transformation Church Rock Hill Campus Pastor, Scott Carroll, shared a soul-sizzling illustration.

Pastor Scott said, “I used to live in Myrtle Beach. In all my years of being at the beach, I’ve never seen a drowning person swim to the lifeguard and say, “Save me; I’m drowning.”

He went on, “The lifeguard has a specific mission: to look for people who are drowning. And once he sees them, his mission is to go rescue them.”

Here’s the deal: Church, every Christ-follower is a lifeguard with a mission. And that mission is to look around in our spheres of influence and find those who are drowning.

Church, we are Jesus’ lifeguards. Marinate on Colossians 1:28-29 (NLT),

“So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.”

This is why Transformation Church, in early 2012, launched two multi-sites. Pray for us as we become one church in three locations for Jesus’ glory in His story.
