Finding Your Purpose

I’ve heard it said that the greatest day of your life is when you were born.

And the next greatest day of your life is when you discover the purpose of your birth.

God has gifted you with passions, gifts, and an intellect. But your passions, gifts, and intellect are not your purpose.

Your passions, gifts, and intellect are only conduits in which you express your purpose.

Jesus said your purpose is to be salt and light.

Through your passions, gifts, and intellect at school, at work, at work, on vacation—wherever you find yourself in God’s story—you are to be salt.

Through the indwelling Life of Jesus—by the Spirit’s power—you are to be salt, which creates a thirst for greater information of why you love the way you love.

When people in your sphere of influence see an exceptional person who possesses Christ-like character, they want to discover why you are the way you are.

Through your passions, gifts, and intellect, you are to be a light.

A light is meant to shine and give direction.

Through Jesus, the Light of World who infuses His life to yours and empowers you, we radiate and point others to Him. Light-radiating people live so that others see their good deeds and give praise not to them but to their Father in heaven.

What are specific ways you can be salt and light?
