"It is the same with My Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it." Isaiah 55:11, NLT
I sometimes work out at the local YMCA. I'm glad there is a Christ-centered place to try and keep my body in shape. I wish I did more of it. Sometimes, while I am running on the treadmill, I look down and see a verse of Scripture taped to the machine. It is always short, easy to read, and gives me something positive to think about while I exercise.
I don't know that everyone who uses this equipment faithfully reads God's Word. I'm not even sure everyone who attends the Y is a Bible believer. Surely some are not. One thing I am sure of, however, is that God's Word can find application for each person who reads it.
Who can't benefit from the verse that says "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" Who can't get something from "A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity?" Is there anyone who doesn't care to hear that "God so loved the world?" or that "He will wipe every tear from their eyes?"
No, I suspect that each person who steps up to the treadmill, as tired as they may get while they walk or run, feels better when they step down; not just from the workout, but because they have been blessed by the Word of God.
Can I ask you something? Are you getting on the treadmill today? More importantly, are you getting into the Word of God today? He has something good to say to you, if you will only open the book! The best exercise in life is found while turning the pages of Scripture and hiding His Word in your heart.
