Be Still and Know That He Is God

Early this morning the Lord reminded me, yet again, that many of us are just too busy. We really need to start to appropriate Psalm 46:10 (NKJV), which says, “Be still and know that I am God.” A lot of us are suffering from depression, anxiety and fear.

Mainly, it is because the devil is keeping us on the move and we are not getting a chance to spend time with God. So, the things of the world become like mountains, and we forget that all we need is faith the size of one mustard seed to actually tell that mountain to move… and it must go.

I want to encourage you today to start to take time out to spend with Jesus Christ. We need to start to meditate on the things of God. The word meditate means, literally, to think carefully about something -- and that is the one thing the devil wants to prevent us from doing. As long as he can keep us away from God,  he will drive us, literary, to hell.

We need to take time out to smell those roses, to sit down and to wait on God. Not to speak. Not even necessary to read anything but just to sit, be quiet, to think on the things of God and our lives will change considerably.

Charles Spurgeon, one of the greatest preachers of all time, said towards the end of his life he realised because he was a sick man that by doing less he expected to achieve more. If we sit down and meditate, then we will find that things will go a lot easier with a lot less effort.
